Malibu Country Inn + Paradise Cove = Katie & Evan’s Malibu Wedding

Katie and Evan had a small, intimate wedding for friends and family on a bluff overlooking Paradise Cove in Malibu, California. They are Los Angeles area natives but now live in Chicago so this was a great location to celebrate their marriage. Friends and family stayed at the Malibu Country Inn  and that’s where the bride and groom got ready as well. If you’d like to see the whole gallery and you know Katie’s maiden name, click here to view all of their wedding photos.

My camera’s lens hood malfunctioned when I took this photo–but I kind of
liked the effect. Besides, I’m sure the bride’s mother got the shot anyway!

I never tilt photos because I hate tilted photos. But this one time I’m going to post one on my blog. It was
the only way I could have the bride’s mom, the groom’s grandmother, and the ring bearer in a single frame.

Malibu Wedding Photographer | Malibu Beach Inn | Malibu Beach Pier

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Rebecca and Juan’s engagement session in Malibu. We started the morning at the Malibu Beach Inn which is where Juan proposed.  We then walked a few hundred yards down the beach to the Malibu Beach Pier. I tried to get them to grab a pole and catch a few fish, but they claimed that photos were probably a better idea. After the pier, we drove up the Pacific Coast Highway a few miles to another beach where we grabbed just a few photos to finish our session.

Since I got to Malibu a few minutes early, I snapped this peaceful photo of the Malibu Beach Pier.

Rebecca and Juan’s wedding is in South Carolina next summer so they wanted a summery feel
to their photos–even though it was about 55 degrees when we started shooting.
